Poutini the taniwha took Waitaiki for himself. poutini took her up the aharu gorge. Tamaahua the husband woke up and did not find his wife he went to look for her and since the taniwha wanted to keep the wife for ever so poutini turned her into green stone and now she lays in the river bed of aharu river.
